Word of Mouth

About three months until book launch and some good things are beginning to happen. Currently, the only people who know about my children's book series are family & friends, co-workers, and people on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Still, I've started receiving interest from local elementary school teachers for "author visits". That's both exciting and a bit terrifying for me; public speaking is one of my biggest fears.

Oh well. Looking forward to embracing new things and taking Dozi the Alligator to the people!

Advanced Reader Copies!

I recently received some Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) of my first book. ARCs are paperback samples of what the final printed books will look like, and are used by the publisher to market a book to potential buyers–booksellers and wholesalers. The buyers will not buy a picture book without seeing a representative sample of the inside pages. For face to face meetings, the sales people will use these paperback samples of the book. ARCs are also sent to media outlets in order to elicit early (and hopefully positive) reviews of a book.

*The publisher also recently notified me that the official launch date of the series will be moved from March to May. Disappointed, but now I have more time to work on upcoming stories in the series. Winning!
